I think last year was the first year I would have been able to go to Pride out.

It was quite upsetting for me to not be able to go. I felt like I was missing out on something. I’d almost been out a year and so I wanted to feel like I was really part of the community and fully comfortable with my identity. So this year I’m really excited to be able to go and celebrate my own identity, which I guess not a lot of people can do.

Yeah this will be the first time I’m actually going out and celebrating. Because last year I sat at home and I was like, ‘Oh it’s just an excuse for straight people to drink.’ But now I’m embracing the gay. I’m like ‘Nah I’m just gonna to celebrate and be happy’.
