“I started out thinking I was cis and straight, like most people”

Transcription

I started out thinking I was cis and straight, like most people. (The default setting as it seems to be).

Then I found out I fancied women and everyone else was like ‘Duh you fancy women!’ So I didn’t really have to come out. I think that’s one of the perks of living in Brighton.

Then I was, ‘OK I fancy women as well as men, I don’t need to pick and choose so that’s cool.

Oh! There are other genders! Maybe I’m gender fluid. All of the ways I associate with this feel sexist, maybe I’m agender.

OK I’m agender and OK, I don’t have a type of person, so I tend to like people who are entirely different body-types based on their personality being something I like. So maybe I’m pansexual which fits better than bisexual.’

And that’s where I am now.
