“There were people playing ukuleles and singing. It was so open and it was so lovely”

Have you ever been to Pride? If so, when? How did you find it?

My first time at Pride was last year and it was actually my friend’s birthday. We were on the bus going to Pride and I knew it was Pride, so of course I got myself flower crowns, because I had seen a lot of people going.

It’s really odd because usually just getting on the bus, you just walk on and be really quiet, but I went upstairs and there were people playing ukuleles and singing. It was so open and it was so lovely.

I went there and it was just laser zone, so it was really, really chill. But so many people were coming in there. We were supposed to spend an hour there, but we ended up sitting there for three hours, because we kept talking to the people who came in, because people would draw their sexuality flags and stuff like that and we would just start having conversations.

It’s so different to ordinary towns, it’s really good.
